Semillas Wellness and Hood Herbalism

Community Garden Fundraiser

We currently have a community garden plot at Ricardo Lara Linear Park with Hood Herbalism. We want to continue to expand and purchase the remainder of the lots to continue contributing our organizational visions of wellness. Our programming intersects various of aspects of health and well-being through education, advocacy and practice.

We envision having workshops and classes that raises awareness of the environmental, nutritional and social health that a community garden can offer. We are a community cooperative and want to open the doors to community members to participate and contribute in the garden. As an organization we are aware of the food deserts in our neighborhoods and are committed to planting nutritional foods that are difficult to find in the South East Los Angeles region.

Semillas Wellness visions and mission are in alignment with the community garden goals. We want to provide access, education and social opportunities for the community of all ages, however, our funds are limited.

We need help with the growth of community gardens in our South-East cities and are launching a small fundraiser of $1000 for the remaining plots, and gardening shed. We will have an event on July 14 from 5pm-8pm to close our efforts and thank everyone for their support.
